Montessori Children's Academy proudly opened it's doors on September 3rd 2003. We are a CCMA member school
and are licensed by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services .
Our Staff
Director: Heather Wilson
Lead Directress (Casa program): Aleta Berec
Aleta brings an abundance of experience with her to MCA. She is a certified nutritionist, a dance teacherand a Montessori directress all wrapped into one! Aleta has her B.A. as well as her Montessori primary and early elementary diploma. Aleta has been teaching the Casa program for the past 5 years.
Directress (Toddler program): Jennifer Boughner
Jennifer came to MCA first as a supply teacherand then as a toddler classroom directress. Jennifer has her B.A., her early childhood education diploma and her Montessori Assistant's training. Jennifer continues to explore ways to offer a superior toddler experience and works closely with the Casa directress in her planning and programming.
Assistants: Kelly Galloway-Givens, Angela McLellan, Tonya Alex
All of our assistants have taken the Montessori Assistant course and support the classroom Directresses with the daily tasks in the classroom. These ladies are invaluable and are an intergral part of our daily routine at MCA.
Office Administrator: Natalie Blackman
Natalie joined our staff at MCA 3 years ago and is the woman behind the scenes. She keeps all of us on top of deadlines and keeps us organised.

Director: Heather WilsonHeather has over 13 years of teaching experience both in Canada and in Australia. She has owned ad operated MCA since 2003 and continues to strive to provide top quality early learning for the youngsters of our community. Heather's training background includes a B.A., Montessori teaching diplomas both primary and elementary. Heather is also a certified Montessori Teacher Trainer.
